[diy] spiral recreation

spiral leather rose ring. inspiration from little livingstone.

 my re-creation using felt.

materials:
1. felt
2. metal brad
3. glue (fabric / superglue)
4. ring piece

step 1. grab a piece of felt material, cut our a circle, draw a snail like pattern like this.

step 2. cut it out like this first.

step 3. then cut the spiral.

step 4. roll the spiral from the outside, not from the centre.
the centre 'round' part should end your rose like in this photo, by covering up the swirls.

the front of the rose should look like this.
leave the white lines there to add some dimension to your rose.

step 5. get a metal brad and stuff it through the middle of the rose to give it a metallic edge.

step 6. if your rose it shorter in height than the brad, fold the excess legs of the brads like this.
shorten the legs if they are too long.

step 7. use superglue to stick the 'cover' on to cover up the brad and seal the rose in place.

once done, it should look like this.

step 8. attach it to a ring piece to make a ring,
or if you prefer, make your very own statement necklace out of it.

many possibilities, just let your creativity flow!
