[diy] ruffles, felt, buttons and ribbons

 flower long necklace inspiration

 diy flower long necklace

materials required:
1. felt fabric.
2. scrap fabric (from previous cloth cut out from clothes)
3. ribbons
4. buttons
5. needle and thread
6. marker
7. fabric glue
8. something round
9. clips.

step 1. using a round shaped cap  to draw circles on your felt fabric using marker.
use scissors to cut them out.

step 3. to make the centre smaller flower piece of the big light blue flower.
see this link. (sorry, its kinda difficult to explain it here)

step 3. cut out a strip of scrap fabric of your desired colour.

step 4. sew the fabric like this, but closer to the edge.
i kinda did it wrongly here, so i had to redo it.
i was so depressed with making this bigger flower, i forgot to take photos.
for a better illustration, please click this link:

step 5. arrange your ruffles so that your flower looks like a flower,
sew them tight in shape, then sew the centre piece to complete the flower.

step 6. grab another piece of felt circle cut out, sew a button in the middle,
using the button holes as a guiding line,
cut the circle into 8 equal parts.

step 7. pinch the tip of each petal, and make a tiny stitch to make the petals look like as shown.

step 8. get 2 pieces of ribbon of desired colour, and cut them to your desired length.
one shorter and the other longer.
here, i am using the grey ribbon as the main necklace, and the white as a add on.

step 9. using clips, clips the ends of the longer ribbon and wear it on.
next, place the shorter ribbon at your desired position and use clips to hold them in place.

step 10. sew both ribbons together at the desired position, then sew the flowers on.

step 11. to end the necklace, sew both ends of the longer ribbon together inside out,
then get a small/tiny button and sew the ends together to make it a neat closing.

step 12. finally, to make sure nothing runs and ruin all the hard work,
apply fabric glue to the ends of the ribbons, especially where the necklace closes,
and on the thread markings behind the flower pieces.

 done!

close up.

hope you enjoyed the share!
