[diy] neon spiced hardware

 hardware wash hole necklace

materials:
1. wash hole
2. nail polish/paint (white and other colours)
3. spray lacquer
4. black synthetic leather strip
5. small piece of wire

wash hole. i think thats the name for it.

step 1. dismantle it, we only want the middle piece for this little project.

step 2. get your white nail polish/acrylic paint, paint those parts that you want to colour later.
this step will ensure that your neon paint stands out from the gold colour of the wash hole.
paint about 2 coats and let dry. make sure you cant see the gold peeking our from underneath.
you can wear the wash hole on your finger while painting.
use hair dryer to dry it if you want it to dry faster.

step 3. paint your colours on once the white base coat is completely dry.
here, i've only done 1 coat of the neon colours. let dry between coats, and paint at least 2 coats.

step 4. once dry, spray lacquer on to protect the paint against wear and tear, and let dry completely.

step 4. thread the black leather thread through the wash hole like this.
step 5. shape the wire piece like this. then attach it to the ends of the thread and you are done!
