that day i went down for an interview, thinking that they were offering me a management associate position with AY consultants, an international headhunting firm. well, what really turn out of it was that, yes, they were really going to offer me a management associate position, but not with AY consultants. according to her, they actually found my resume from ay associate (note, different company) and called me up for an interview. they happily dig me out of my bed to agree to go for their interview under the guise of 'we are from ay associate'. actually, who are they? peter tan's organization. what do they do? well, simple, sell insurance. dang, i feel so cheated. so i asked, 'do i have to sell insurance too?' 'no' she replied me, 'not at all. but in your first year, you have to learn the basics and sell financial plans.' hello, isnt it the same thing?
well the best part comes in here. after the HR lady interviewed me, she sent her manager to interview me. i really dislike the way he talks to me. he pause at unnecessary points, almost after every sentence he says, and it makes me feel like i have to prompt him to keep the conversation going. it totally stresses me out. worse, he rambles on and on about how i can be successful like him if i join his team. i have nothing against his view of being successful, but it is just so disgusting how he makes me feel like success is measured only in monetary terms. i looked at him, and spotted his big LV belt metal piece, and i thought, wow, is that just all? he claims otherwise when i ask him 'so is success to you all about money?' seriously, you can deny, but you cannot try to deceive the heart, because it reads what you are really feeling.
the next day, the really sweet HR lady called, and i told her, i'm employed, i'm sorry.
