[fashion] long flora dress, they say its not my type of fashion, but decided otherwise

this is a piece of flora dress that a church friend gave me because it dint fit her well. i kept it in my wardrobe for such a long time, i never dare wore it out because M would have called me 'ah huay' (flower girl) if he saw me in this. anyway, neither was i a big fan of flora dresses, especially one that drops slightly above the ankle. i never carried them off.

but that fateful day, i decided to wear it out only because i bought a new necklace and wanted to give it a try. so when i stepped out of my room in this, my dad exclaimed: waaa you are going to wear this to work? thats so not you!surprising, i got compliments from my colleagues, my parents, and best of all, from M! i'm so gonna wear it out again tomorrow!

i live in my illusions

secretly, i think i live in a world half filled with reality, half filled with my fantasies, and imagination. here, fantasies, i don't mean sexual fantasies, but rather, i find myself recently caught in this cycle of fantasizing our dates together over and over again, in so many permutations of similar yet different but perfect dates with him. does this make sense to you? will if it doesn't, its ok, i don't know how to explain it anyway. somehow, sometimes i mixed my own imagination up with the date we had in reality, i am confusing myself. but despite knowing this, i dont want to stop this wild imagination. i love it seriously. its like a non-stop ideas generator that gives me endless 'something special' that i can do with him on the next date. but, sadly, seeing him makes my mind and heart flutters too much, i forget most of my wonderful ideas. such an irony, but such a beautiful world to live in. self deception you call that? who cares? i like.

 lilac pleated blouse with lace lined collar paired with jeans, a pleated belt (not seen here) and a chunky statement necklace that i got from a sales at rubi. 

 knitted singlet top paired with a large pocket poka dotted skirt, held in place with a belt and matched with a small ribbon necklace.

 a bright red singlet that slightly flares out paired with jeans for a simple look. i topped on the ribbon scarf from promod and added some 'high class' chic look to the plain combination. perfect to go with snake skin clutch bag and a vintage owl ring. perfect outfit for watch night prayer and also to welcome 2013!

 cheapo mint jeans paired with stripped top from cotton on and my sales haul necklace from diva. perfect match. mint jeans is the new fashion man!!!

 a simple cotton top from G2k paired with jeans. i wore this long gold geometric necklace to upgrade the look, giving off a more mature look. the perfect combination for a sunday service if you want something casual, yet formal at the same time.

happy first weekend of 2013!!!

[diy] renewed necklace, spiderman blue and lime green

 necklace that i bought from bangkok last may. the glitter golden pieces were coated in at least 3 layers of gold glitter nail polish many months ago to cover up the original gold plating that was tarnishing and peeling off. few months back, i realised the colour of the yellow pieces are inconsistent and i had always wanted to do something about it. last christmas, the church gifted me a set of opi minis in spiderman series. well as you should know by now if you follow me long enough, i love subtle nude colours. so that set of mini 4 wasnt really to my taste, so i had to put them to better use than on my toe nails now.

 i grabbed all the weird and bright shades that i have in my collection and i tried to mix and match them around to fit this combination. here are 3 sets of colour mix i have. in the end i decided on the lime green and spiderman blue combination in the middle.

 so i painted the pieces accordingly, being careful not to mess up the sides. here, i applied 1 coat of nail polish on each piece.

 because there are some original colours peeking out, and you can see the ugly brush strokes, i did a second thick coat over, then i finish it off with a thick layer of top coat. let to dry under the fan and you are done!

here you can see the colours in the photos as close is it appears in real life. that saves me a piece of necklace! hope you enjoyed the share there! 

[fashion] diva Christmas sales loot

 i went to diva accessory shop twice on 2 separate occasion. one when i was at jurong point, and the other time at parkway parade. a huge 'sales' poster was hanging outside diva and i had to join in the crowd to rip cheat good digs for myself. here are 5 of the necklaces that i've gotten from the sales. each was selling for $9. such a cheap good deal, how could i miss it? i might be so tempted to go back for more soon!!!
