her invitation to me was a reaffirmation of our friendship. why i say this? well, i've not been long into the last job that i resigned from. i met her since day 1 at the training school. we always had each other's accompany for breaks and lunch hour. we build a friendship that somehow i think i would never expected it. yet because i was too quick-tongued, and too innocent to the working world, my good intention indirectly resulted in some unhappy hiccups for her in the office. then, at that point of time, did i realised i treat her more than just a colleague of mine, but really a friend that i would love to keep in touch with even after leaving the office. that day, before i handed in my letter, i apologised to her, and i asked her 'will we keep in touch again?' few days later, she called me, inviting me down to her daughter's birthday party. it really touched me, because i was not a perfect friend during the short 2 months we had together at the office, yet i was the only one she invited to the party.
the moral of the story. if you have offended someone, and you treasure that person, be brave to admit your mistake, and apologise sincerely. how much does your face worth?
thank you!
