Православная Церковь

Православная Церковь - 03 Apr 2011the day when all my exchange mates from smu were not in Moscow, i decided to make a lone trip around.since it was a Sunday, and i felt i ought to make an effort to go to church, henceforth... ...
this is the Orthodox Church that i always see on my way to University.

i always wanted to go attend a service or so there,
but i dint really know how to get there.
today i was determined to find my way there.

Снежный человек

Снежный человек - 25 mar 2011

it was such a strong/heavy snow storm outside,
in the midst of spring here in Moscow,
and we decided to go out to play in the snow!

snow storm - looking out from my window.

the snow storm was so heavy, you cant see more than 50m away.

i'm posting a picture of Hugen and Edwin
to show you how strong the snow storm was
because my photo doesnt do much justice to it.

you see, this is what i meant ):
you cant see its snowing heavily!
but it really was!!!

our snow man in making!

tada! hello mini snow man!

mini snow man with his red cap crown.

the happy creators of mini snow man!

The Republic of Singapore to The Russian Federation

The Republic of Singapore to The Russian Federation
21 Feb 2011

because my wallet for pick-pocked in Moscow,
so i called our embassy for help,
and we were invited to the Friends of Russia social Gathering event.

Г.У.М.

Г.У.М - 15 Feb 2011

yet another really old post that should have been posted earlier.
i remembered it was after intensive Russian class,
we decided to tour Red Square, but here we were, stranded instead,
the weather was simply too cold at -17deg with strong wind blowing in all directions.
we were shivering inside our coats, under 3-4 layers of clothes!
so G.U.M. was our shelter to provide us with some warmth that evening.

some performance outside G.U.M

G.U.M's lovely at night with the lights that line its architecture.

inside G.U.M., the center.

some posh restaurant in G.U.M.
i just love the European style sofas.
so vintage!

i love the whole 'European feel' of this state shopping center.

i like the patterns the rail and its shadows made.
its simply lovely!

a loving couple siting under the artificial blossom tree,
how i wished they were you and me.

this photograph doesnt really justify how beautify G.U.M is,
but it really is. you should come to G.U.M to see it for yourself.

балет "Щелкунчик"

балет "Щелкунчик"
ballet - the Nutcracker
28 Mar 2011

in Kremlin,
walking on the bridge to the Kremlin Palace Theater.
it just gets me so excited because i am IN Kremlin!

inside the Kremlin Theater - COMMUNISM!!!

inside the Theater
they have a live orchestra to play for the ballet performance

ticket - a cheap 400p for a ballet performance in Kremlin Theater.
sweet one!

programme sheet that we have to pay 50p for 1.

good thing they have it in dual languages - Russian and English.
thats Russia for you, you have pay for everything.
even sauces at Mac.

human size presents!

super duper lovely backdrop that gives different illusions
when different lights are used.
amazingly beautiful, fairytale like!

good experience - 400p was worth it, given the fact that the venue itself was in Kremlin. but compare it with the previous time i watched Swan Lake in Novosibirsk for a good 350p, and it having a storyline, i would prefer Swan Lake to Nutcracker. Nutcracker is simply too fairytale and lacking of climax climax for me. i would this its more suitable for people who daydream. given a chance, i wont mind spending some hundreds to catch Swan again. i simply love the music!
